The story of ‘SHIVAM’ revolves around the central character of ‘Shivam Malhotra’ the protagonist of the film. Shivam is the only son of reputed industrialist Yashwant Malhotra who happens to be a very good friend of Dr. Satyakam Choudhary the owner of Sanjeevani Hospitals. Around twenty years back Yashwant Malhotra had another child by the name of ‘Monty’. One day Yashwant Malhotra along with his wife Ruby and Monty had gone to visit his old friend Dr. Satyakam Choudhary who was then busy with the construction of his dream project ‘The Sanjeevani Hospital and Cancer Research Centre’. But that day turned out to the most unfortunate day of Yashwant Malhotra’s life, his son Monty fell down from the 3rd floor of the under-construction building and lost his life, Yashwant Malhotra and his wife were devastated.

Couple of months later Yashwant Malhotra and his wife mysteriously found a boy child of around three four years of age sleeping on the rear seat of their car. Without trying to find out who the child was or who were his parents, they took him as a God send gift and adopted him as their own child and named him as ‘Shivam’. They relocated themselves to Mumbai for a couple of years so as to conceal their secret and let the people believe that God has blessed them with another child while they were in Mumbai.

Years passed by and Shivam grew up to become a young handsome hunk who is a heartthrob of many. After passing out of college ‘Shivam’ takes a break and goes to visit his best friend from his graduation days Alex, who lives in Hanumantgarg, a small sleepy village located on a hill station. This journey turns out to be an intriguing experience for Shivam as he finds the love of his life in form of ‘Carol’ a simple innocent, straight forward and short tempered girl and also discovers many things which later goes to haunt him.

In a shear coincidence Dr. Satyakam Choudhary happens to find out the secret that Shivam is not a biological child of Yashwant Malhotra and starts to blackmail his good friend for money and property, he even goes to trace out the family to whom Shivam belongs. Things get murkier by every passing day. One secret after another starts tumbling out of the cupboard and everything gets totally messed up. Will Shivam ever know who his real parents were? Will the Malhotra family lose their only heir? And why after all did Dr. Satyakam Choudhary start to blackmail his good friend for so many years Mr. Yashwant Malhotra? These questions take you to the climax of the film.
